Last week we had some excellent results of removing the Red antiflow from from this Cornish Crabber.

By using a fine grade of  media and light pressure, we can remove the antiflow and leave the original green Gel coat intact. This would then be ready to apply its new coatings.

The only places the gel coat will be effected is if the boat has got osmosis.

A successful day removing the whitewash from the ceilings and beams in a new art studio undergoing a lot of work in Plymouth.

Using the correct grit, pressure and knowledge,  you can lightly remove the paint with minimal damage the the wood.

Both ourselves and the customer were extremally happy with the results.

Whilst on site we also did a sample on the brick pillars inside, which from the results, it wasn’t a surprise that we have been asked to make a return visit to remove the paint off these as well.

Well the day has finally come….. K Blasting Ltd is moving premises 01/08/20022

We are moving to :-

Maddacombe Farm

Stoneycombe

Newton Abbot

Devon

TQ12 5LF

Its been a pleasure to work in the premises that our parents, Peter and Beverly Kay, started K Blasting back in 1990.

It has been a rollercoaster of emotions, reminiscing of all the good and bad times whilst being in the Galmpton quarry.

But now we look forward to our new adventure!!!!

This week has been
Landrover madness.

We have blast cleaned two long wheelbase and one shortwheel base chassis ready to be hot dip galvanised.
By blast cleaning we have removed all the paint and rust ready to give the galvanising the best possible chance. The galvanising will give maximum longevity and maintenance free.

One of these chassis is for our main company landrover and the other for two local friends with the same idea!

Now for the rebuild!

Cabinet Restoration – 21st Feb 2022

Recently we have lightly blast cleaned these matching pair of cabinets to remove the staining to bring them back to the bright oak underneath.

The results were extremely satisfying

Not just 1 motor bike but 5 motorbike restorations all at the same time for 1 person… WOW

A Friend popped by to have several motorbike fuel tanks and various other parts blast cleaned ready to be restored and repainted

What better preparation can you get than blast cleaning to remove the filler, years of paint and rust for the ultimate finish?

Yesterday, K Blasting was asked to blast clean this old Triumph Stag.

As can be seen from the pictures this has been stripped back to the bare metal and extra care has been taken around the body panels to avoid any warping.

All ready now for the body work repairs to start.

Well its a shame we didn’t take some before pictures of these alloy wheels.

These were in extremely poor condition with corrosion and flakey paint.

By lightly glass blast cleaning them, they are now in the perfect condition and texture to apply new coatings. With a slight profile to the aluminum, this will allow the new  coatings to bond extremely well.

We lightly blast cleaned this Rib to remove the antifouling ready for a new paint application.
By using our blast cleaning method, not only does it remove the antifoul but gives the perfect abrasion for the coatings to bond to.
The results were outstanding and another happy customer for K Blasting.

Wooden Bench Renovation – 30/7/21

This week  we decided to try some light blast cleaning tests on different wooden items we had in the yard to find out what would give great results and what wouldn’t.

We were extremely happy with how this old bench cleaned up. By blast cleaning the wood lightly really has brought the bench back to life ready to be used again.
